Each team should begin the exploration of the unique governance model of the chosen company or the entity chosen to work with for the semester. In order to identify the Governance Model, begin by visiting the corporate website.

Corporate governance, investor relations, public affairs, board of directors, compliance, and external relations all are topic areas providing information regarding how the company is governed.

Also, contacting individual supervisors, the compliance officer, the public affairs officer, government relations or investor relations officers and legal relations are all good sources of information.

Explore the governance structure, model of the corporation in which you work. This will require you to become familiar with public affairs/government relations and investor relations executives at your organization.

After compiling all the information obtained, do a presentation with power points of your understanding of the model and issues affecting your chosen corporation's governance.

CHECKLIST: Ensure coverage of:

o Legal definition (public, private, family-owned, other, such as ESOP or partnership). -

o Structure and size of Board of Directors - Insiders, Institutional Investors, Outsiders. -
