Each one of you is required to attend a planning related meeting in the valley next week. The meeting could be a Council meeting, village planning committee meeting, planning commission meeting, county meeting, board of adjustment meeting or neighborhood meeting discussing planning issues. You may attend the meeting on Monday or any time during this week. Some of you have done it earlier, and that is fine too. Please listen the proceedings of the meeting with a trained eye of a student who has taken PUP 436 so far. Write your observations of the meeting succinctly in a page of two and submit that to Brad. The idea here is to expose you to a real life situation where planning deliberations or decision happen. Please focus on any controversies, conflicting interests and how good decision resolve these issues. (in the valley means tempe,or phoenix or mesa these cities are in Arizona state AZ.
