In the past, the web was quite different and much easier and simpler to use as compared to how it is today. The receiving of images and text that was static made it difficult to enable the browsers display of content that was active or rigid. Before, web security functioned in such a way as to look at the functioning of the server, for example, attacks as a result of buffer overflow and browsers getting the server to do things it would not normally do (Sullivan, Liu & Howard, 2012).
