Assignment - Numerical Analysis
Tasks - Simulate the attached problem and assume missing data that you may think it will assist your solution and list it under assumption heading in your solution.
1) Draw the settlement diagram at the surface of the ground under the steel base and determine the maximum and minimum settlement and their location for relative to the centre of the tank over tank filling stage (Day 3 to 10).
2) Draw the stress increase diagram under the tank centre on top of the soft clay layer over tank filling stage (Day 3 to 10).
3) Develop the excess pore water pressure increase diagram under the tank centre at the centre of the soft clay layer over tank filling stage (Day 3 to 10).
4) Draw the settlement and excess pore water pressure diagram at the surface of the ground under the steel base over 365 days from the starting day of tank filling.
The report must be submitted in the current MS Word file including the answers to the above questions. You should also submit your Geostudio file along with your submission.
Note - This assignment should be done through Geo Studio software and report should be of 1500 words.
