Find two real-life cases of 3-d static equilibrium that are of interest to you and are statically determinate. One case must illustrate particle equilibrium and the other rigid body equilibrium. In both cases 2-d static equilibrium must be insufficient to fully describe the situation. Do the following for each case: a) Provide a picture or neat sketch of the situation b) Draw and label a uesful free-body diagram c) Explain why it is statically determinate d) Describe how you would go about solving for the reactions. Not: You don't need to solve for the reactions, just describe how you would do it in suficient detail so that another engineer could follow your instructions. e) Describe what information is needed to solve for the reactions and how would you go about obtaining that information.
