Draw a risk severity matrix for your favorite food identify

Chapter 7-ASSIGNMENT

1. Identify your favorite food entrée or favorite dessert and find a good recipe on the Internet. Share a link to that recipe and ingredient list on the Internet. Find one that has more than 5 steps in the recipe. The "[your favorite food]" in questions 2 and 3 below refer to the item you selected.

2. Draw a risk severity matrix for "[your favorite food]" .Identify at least five activities (i.e. process steps) needed to bake or cook "[your favorite food]" .Then identify five associated risk events, one for each of the activities. Place the five associated risk events in the matrix.
Refer to slides 7-11 and 7-12 in the lecture presentation for an example.

3. Build an Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to identify problem areas to be addressed in cooking or baking "[your favorite food]".

• Identify at least five process step(s) in the recipe to analyze

• for each of at least five process step and associated risk event

• List the severity, occurrence, and detection

• Determine the Risk Priority Number (RPN)

• Which risks are you most worried about based on the RPN?

• Which risks are you least worried about based on the RPN?

Chapter 8 Assignment

1. Solve Exercise #1 on page 280. Given the network plan that follows, compute the early, late, and slack times. What is the project duration? Using any approach you wish (e.g., trial and error), develop a loading chart for resource Electrical Engineers (EE), and resource, Mechanical Engineers (ME). Assume only one of each resource exists. Given your resource schedule, compute the early, late, and slack times for your project. Which activities are now critical? What is the project duration now? Could something like this happen in real projects?

2. For Exercise #1, do the same work again, but change the duration of task 2 to 5 weeks, and task 6 to 3 weeks. Show all three parts of the diagram again. What is the duration of the project? What would happen if you had two Electrical Engineers and two Mechanical Engineers and they were equally productive. What is the duration of the project with the extra resources.

3. Solve exercises exercise #9 on page 287 (6 points). Complete the middle and bottom sections of the diagram.

4. For that same exercise #9 what if the WP Design activity took an extra week in duration, pushing out the other two activities, and cost 4 in that extra 4th week. Complete the middle and bottom sections of the diagrams again with the extra WP Design week.

5. Read the Appendix 8.1 Critical Chain approach developed by Goldratt pages 293-301 in your textbook. Describe the difference between the critical path traditional method and the critical chain method in a few paragraphs. Also show the differences between the critical chain approach and traditional scheduling approach with a small example. Draw the example of each as an activity on node diagram. Show the project buffer and feeder buffers in the critical chain approach diagram .
