Draft case briefs. Instructions Brief a case using the FIRAC format discussed in the assigned readings and presentations. Brief any one of the following from Appendix A of the Putman Text (or you may find the case on Westlaw of course): Stanley v. Illinois (See Appendix A of textbook) United States v. Martinez-Jiminez (Appendix A, p. 632) People of the State of Illinois v. Sanders (Appendix A, p. 611) Your brief should be 2-4 pages in length, double-spaced. Hint: A case brief does not and should not require outside research, nor should it contain any references to authority not cited in the actual opinion. A brief strictly summarizes and analyzes the contents within a published case, even if that case has since been reversed!
