Chop Steakhouse & Bar is a well-known steakhouse, owned and operated by Northland properties. Its inception Chop has developed an international reputation for quality food and exceptional service. It first started in 2007 when they NP opened its first location in Stoney plains, Alberta, Canada. Since then, it is growing leaps and bounds.
It offers unique modern steak experience to the guest by keeping traditional and contemporary taste alive. With so many locations across 5 countries and 3 across GTA (Greater Toronto area), Northland properties is looking to add one more in Mississauga, ON.
Northland properties hired your company Design TWG to facilitate and execute this project. Part of this project involves acquiring a small building (approximately 800 Sq. Ft) in Mississauga and then converting it into a Chop Steakhouse & Bar. The steakhouse will provide certified Angus beef, fresh Atlantic Salmon, Scallops, Chicken and Ribs.
You will be provided with additional information about the organization each week and be asked to document your responses to several key deliverables. Each case study presented is associated with a relevant topic and realistic situation relevant to your field of study. Case studies will provide practice in analyzing and making decisions in a work environment.
John who is regional operation manager for all chains owned by northern properties, want to make this location unique. He has different design and operation improvement ideas on what should be appropriate. Hence it is important for your team to capture and understand his expectations very accurately and precisely. You and your team having kickoff meeting for this project with John and other investors. While understanding their expectations. It is crucial to record minutes of meetings as this will help you and your team to identify future course. In this meeting you will come to know detailed deliverables, high level customer requirements and important stakeholder.
In order to successfully achieve the meeting agenda your team must prep list of questionnaires that you should be asking to about their expectation from this project.
Part of this week work involves consolidating all of the requirements that you have gathered upon meeting with John and other executives from Northern properties. Also curate a proposal which makes this location unique own its own, keeping the legacy alive.
Deliverables:
1. Capture and highlight element of surprise that you adding to Chop's Mississauga location to make it unique.
2. Draft a project charter underlying key milestones of this project.
3. Identify and document list of key stakeholders of this project and their level of engagement.
