Genocide is a word primarily associated with the Holocaust of WWII, but for a couple of decades now the term has been applied broadly to any great loss of life, usually by intention of the perpetrator(s).
Question 1: Does the term 'genocide' apply to the indigenous loss of life after contact where approximately 100 million died? If so, why? If no, why not?
