Does favoritism within the army affect an individuals

Consider a potential study regarding an issue, opportunity, or problem facing one or more team members' organizations. (Note: do not pick a general or fictitious company or organization.

Build on the Team Planning. As needed, revise research question based on my feedback and firmly decide if you will conduct:

a) A causal study (where you will investigate whether or not one variable (the Independent Variable) causes a change, response, alteration, etc. in another variable (your Dependent variable).

OR

b) A descriptive study. For example you might be interested in

- Descriptions of phenomena or characteristics associated with a subject population. Sample questions:

Do men and women have the same level of absenteeism?
Does Department A have the same level of output as Department B?

- Estimates of the proportions of a population that have these characteristics.

Using the Template provided, write a 700 to 1,050 word proposal that addresses the following sections:

a) Defines the purpose of your proposed business research.
b) Describes the significance of this research or in other words, why would anyone be interested in authorizing or sponsoring your proposed research?
c) States what is your Research Question?
d) States what are the NULL and ALTERNATIVE hypotheses to be tested (at least one pair should be included)
e) States what key variables are to be examined or measured and how each are to be operationalized or defined
f) Discusses what ethical considerations must be taken into account for this study.
g) Discusses what other (non-ethical) issues you might face while trying to conduct this research. (Please note this section does not appear again in the Week 5 proposal)

Format your proposal consistent with APA guidelines.

Phase l

- Assignment: We should use Part A for our assignment.
- Question: Does favoritism within the Army affect an individual's positive job performance?
- Favoritism: (I added to Ashley's idea) "Favoritism is defined as the preferential treatment of an individual or group of individuals over others, related to salary or promotion for same job not based on positive performance but rather sex, race, gender, relationship, other.
- Positive Job Performance: "Positive job performance is described as producing agreed upon job description and specifications results, good attendance, (only 3 misses per year), zero safety and security related issues.
Null Hypothesis: (This is Ashley's work / I agree) HO: Favoritism within the workplace DOES NOT affect job performance
