Forum Question: Ruth Benedict, a prominent anthropologist, once said, "the purpose of anthropology is to make the world safe for human differences." Are anthropologists in a position "to make the world safe for human differences" by having an impact on public policy? Do you view anthropology as essential for cooperation and peaceful co-existence on individual, local, national, and global levels; why or why not? Please identify a current policy or social problem that has been or may be affected by anthropological research in order to answer your question.
