Question 3. Do you trust the information in the article? Why or why not? Does it appear as if any important information left out of the article?
Question 4. List one pattern of organization that you see being used in the article and give an example of where you see this pattern of organization.
Question 5. Did anything in the article confuse or surprise you? List 3 things you knew before reading the article about the topic and 3 things that you learned. If you know anything about the topic from other sources, how did this article and what it said relate to what you already know? Explain.
Question 6. Write something not stated directly in the article that you could infer (conclude) after reading some facts/parts of the article.
Question 7. Discuss the tone of the article. How do you know what the tone of the article is? List 3 examples from the article that show the tone.
Question 8. Discuss who you think this article was written for (the audience) and why you think this is the audience for the article.
Question 9. Write down 5 key words from the article. First, choose words that you did not know. Next, choose words that you feel might confuse many people. Define the words as they are used in the article. You may use a dictionary for help here.
Question 10. Write a 6 to 8 sentence summary of the key points of the article. Make sure you use your own words or quotation marks for words or phrases directly copied from the article unless these are things you cannot reword or change, for example names, numbers, etc.
