Gender Variations
In this assignment you will examine public perceptions of the differences between the way men and women talk. You will interview 2 men and 2 women and you will ask them the following questions:
1) Do you think there is a difference in the way men and women communicate? If so, how? You can also follow up by asking for an example. You will not engage them in a discussion, just simply get their answers and examples.
2) Do you think language is sexist? In what way? Can you give examples? In your 2-3 page write-up you will discuss what their answers were and discuss whether you agree or disagree with the statements your participants made and why.
