Federal sentencing modifications have helped drug offenders and other non-violent offenders. More opportunity for diversion programs and shorter community supervision terms can also help to keep drug abusers from entering the jail or prison system. Do you believe that drug diversions are helpful to recidivisim rates in jails and prisons? Are tax-payer dollars being well spent in rehabilitation facilities or should more money be spent building prisons?
