Assignment task:
Section 1 - Need a response to one (1) of the four (4) following questions. Each response should be about five hundred words.
1. Do you believe the Golden Age of Children's Literature was truly the best period in children's literature in the past 200 years? Why or why not? Provide at least three (3) supporting points/texts to support your position.
2. Should Children's Literature be treated with the same respect and reverence as other genres in English literature such as Shakespeare and his Plays, Women in Literature or Medieval Literature? Why or why not? Give at least two (2) reasons in making your case.
3. Which titles from our course serve as a defining text for Children's Literature? Use one (1) or two (2) texts to do this. Provide at least two (2) supporting points for your choice(s) - these points may include literary elements like - language, setting, characters, illustrations/pictures, plot, narrative, point of view, major themes, and so forth.
4. What children's book would you like to see added to our course? Provide at least three (3) supporting points for your choice (ie. plot, characters, setting, morals, point of view, major themes, illustrations, language, as examples).
Section 2 - Write a short paragraph in response to five (5) of eleven (11) course terms from the following list. Offer a brief definition and then explain why the term is important in the field of Children's Literature. Each response should be about one fifty words.
