When it comes to negotiations, how important is your word? Consider this. You made a deal with a car salesperson at ABC Cars and Trucks to purchase a new car, shook their hand, and even made a verbal agreement to be back in a couple of hours to sign the paper work. While you were gone, you found a better deal (a $2000 better deal) with another dealership. Do you adhere to your agreement with the first dealership or abort it and go with the second one? You know you are better off with the second dealership as for as financially, but what about from an ethical stand point?
