Problem
In chapters 3 and 4 of Love in the Time of Cholera, we get a detailed account of Florentino Ariza's life after Fermina Daza breaks up with him. His series of affairs and flings is, as he puts it, a physical alternative to the spiritual love he bears for Fermina. In contrast, we also get glimpses of the honeymoon and marriage of Fermina and Dr. Juvenal Urbino.
Do these two extreme examples complement each other (i.e. giving one complete view of LOVE), or do they promote two different but equal types of LOVE?
