I love the silliness and rhymes that Dr. Suess provides. Many of his words are made-up, created words. Do the context clues provide an opportunity for children to define words they do not know? Is it easy for a child to use his illustrations and the rhyming scheme to predict the storyline? Going back to our studies, quality literature includes illustrations that support the text and help children predict the story.
