Imagine that you are a therapist seeing a 16-year-old female patient. She discloses to you that she is sexually active with multiple partners, and that she has occasionally driven while drunk. You are seriously concerned about her safety.
In addition to what you have learned from reading your textbook, do some research regarding a therapist's legal and ethical obligations regarding confidentiality? Then discuss whether you would be obligated to inform the parents or other party, even over the objections of the patient.
