Problem: Think about what James had in common with Kierkegaard and the existentialists. Both groups emphasized the importance of passion and purpose over reason and adherence to objective ideas of truth. What do you think of this idea? Do you think passion and alignment of one's feelings and experience with one's beliefs is important? What might be lost when we pay more attention to other people's arguments/ideas about truth than we pay attention to our own experience of the world?
