The effectiveness of treating respiratory infections with herbal remedies was studied. "Days of fever" was used to measure effects. Among 356 children treated with herbal remedies, teh mean number of days with was 0.36, with a standard deviation of 1.59 days. Among 430 children given a placebo, the mean was 0.74, with a standard deviation of 1.23 days. Use a 0.1 significance level to test the claim that herbal remedies affect the number of days with fever. Do not assure the population standard deviation are equal. Based on these results, do herbal remedieis appear to be effective?
