You have begun working as a nurse in a different hospital that is closer to your home. This hospital is much more culturally diverse than what you have had experience with in the past. You are assigned to a medical surgical unit, and it deals with many issues such as surgery, cancer, diabetic complications and bowel obstructions, to name a few. You have noticed that all of these health issues have a high degree of pain for the patients and nurses to manage. However, you have noticed that there are many varied ways the different cultures and sexes deal with pain.
