Ans Differentiate between Minterms and Maxterms:
a. Each single term in standard Sum Of Products (SOP) form is termed as minterm whereas all individual terms in standard Product Of Sums (POS) form is termed as maxterm.
b. The unbarred letter show 1's and the barred letter shows 0's in min terms, while the unbarred letter show 0's and the barred show 1's in maxterms.
c. If in a system there is variables A, B, C so the minterms would be in the form ABC, while the maxterm would be in the form A+B+C.
(iv) The minterm designation for three variable expression be
Y=∑m (1, 3, 5, 7)
Here the capital ∑ shows the product and m stands for minterms.
Corresponds to binary number 001 or A‾ B‾ C, decimal number 1
Corresponds to binary number 011 or A‾BC , decimal number 3
