Small business owners must be aware of legislation (federal, provincial and municipal) which they must comply with. Similarly, those same owners can take advantage of legislation which protects them.

You will need to have read the relevant text and other materials in order to prepare this paper. I will expect a discussion of laws protecting consumers as well as, for example, laws protecting the small business owner from other business's practices or from their suppliers and manufacturers. Included can be specific discussions of property law, workplace law and banking. More generally, contract law and the chapters on forms of carrying on business can be raised.
