Problem: We learned a little about geology and rocks in chapter 13, including a sedimentary rock called shale. Shale is located closely (and this is no accident) with petroleum and natural gas reserves throughout the world. Geologists look for shale for many reasons, but those who work for oil companies are particularly motivated. Controversy surrounding fossil fuel mining aint nothing new - strip mining starting back in the 60s for example. and with new technologies, we have something nicknamed "fracking." so, check it out and weigh in with your thoughts, whether you are a diehard capitalist or environmental warrior.
