Question: There is a lot of discussion about the amount of money being spent on college sports, sometimes to the detriment to the overall university. Students are being asked to subsidize athletic departments that they may not even care about. Please give your thoughts on whether you believe such spending makes sense, ways the schools can raise money without asking more from students, coaches salaries (are they too high), and anything else that speaks to the spending and budgeting that takes place at the college level. To get it started, would you care if you had to pay $100 a year to support your athletic department? How about $400? Why or why not? (700 word)
