My research question: How does early exposure to pornography affect the likelihood of a teenage becoming a sex offender? The population for my study would be female and male teenagers in the United States from the ages of 12-17 years old. The reason I chose this population is because they are the most vulnerable and have been influenced the most negatively by the porn industry. I would utilize random sampling in my research from youth across the United States. I would also use information from public databases because a lot of the information about sexual offenders and the age brackets.
Then consider ethical or cultural issues related to the population that you should address.
The ethical and cultural issues related to the population I chose would be moral and values system. Some people have been raised to lack of parental supervision and is okay with viewing pornography at a young age. Another issue would be lack of healthy boundaries within the household because children who have not been in treatment facilities and or aware of boundaries will struggle with how pornography is inappropriate to view.
