Public administration has constantly been changing over the course of time, which is also known as paradigms. According to the reading, "Philosophers and intellectuals, in general, are continuously attempting to change our world by looking for new and better-fitting interpretations of the events happening around us and by identifying the causes"(Marx,2023). This is precisely what was happening within the public administration. They were identifying what was happening around them and changing the paradigms to be more successful with public administration. The eras within American History have had a significant impact on public administration. When public administration first came about, it was only to be found in royal households. For example, chapter 1 states, "The public administrative practice has differentiated itself from royal and republican politics very slowly and gradually"(2023). We learned in the reading that it was not until the 19th century that it finally came out from the royal public administration and became the real public administration. This impacted the public administration because it shaped the relationship between executive power and the legislative branches. Ultimately these events led to public administration growing through each era and becoming what they are today. Without the different eras in American history, public administration would be nowhere near what they are today. I believe that paradigms will continue to change daily, and as they change, so will public administration. If you were to take the time to reflect back on public administration, you would find that there has not been one year that it has been the same due to the simple fact of paradigms.
