Media representations of gender roles continue to shape societal behaviors by presenting white males as the standard in many contexts. These portrayals are prevalent across various media platforms, where they depict strong male figures as ideal. Many Tv shows feature white males in leadership roles such as: CEOs and super heroes. Advertisements for products like cars show white men as the primary users suggesting authority in this domain. This is reinstated from when I said, "You're everywhere you look, you're the standard against which everyone else is measured"(Dilley,2009).
When I was with Disney doing the show Hannah Montana I was the perfect representation of what a tween girl was. There was good Christian views shown making her further relatable. The secret life of Hannah Montana was appropriate with pop music singing (Sabate etc.,2017). This is what a network such as Disney wants to show you. However, this was not an image that I could keep up with because really I felt like, "I feel like I'm one of the biggest feminists in the world because I tell women not to be scared of anything,"(Apolloni,2014). I showed this by transforming from the Disney character that the media representation forced me to have to my true self. This was only once I left Disney since it isn't the media representation that they wanted
