The business domination system depends heavily on white collar crime because influential actors and corporations exploit non-violent illegal acts such as fraud and embezzlement and insider trading and regulatory violations to obtain unethical competitive advantages, "It chastises the corporate leaders for allowing themselves to be 'bullied and cowed' by right-wing extremists, and for being 'ineffectual' and self-interested" (Finsterbusch, 2019, p. 130). White-collar criminal enterprises gain control through their crimes thus they can eliminate competitors and manipulate markets to strengthen economic inequality and corporate dominance.
Reading chapter 8, I got flashbacks of the corruption that Mexico has. I have lived in a small town called Calexico, which is literally next to the border. All my life, I have crossed to Mexico to see my family and get together with friends I have down in Mexicali. Growing up hearing the corruption that political parties do to gain interests, money, and get what they want through dirty business. The United States is not corruption-free free but white collar crimes aren't noticed as much as in Mexico. In Mexico, it's a scoundrel. Starting from small towns to the president of Mexico, you can know and see how the corruption is and it's bloody. As a person who has lived in Mexico, I can say that there is a killing for interest and getting rid of protesters, interviewers, newspaper writers, and any other person who will make the corrupt look bad or try to expose them against a competitor.
