Discussion about effective manager

Assignment task:

After taking the learning styles questionnaire, I found that I scored Active (5), Sensing (9), Verbal (1), and Sequential (1). Additionally, the personality test demonstrated that I am an ESTJ, which hasn't changed for most of my life. The textbook illustrates Jung's four problem-solving styles, which I would be labeled as sensation-thinking. This style is detail-oriented, logical, orderly, and dependable, and prioritizes the goal of doing the task correctly (Uhl-Bien, 2021, p.175). Although, I find it interesting that my learning style is very moderate for both verbal/visual and sequential/global. I believe that these scores might be very helpful for my development as a manager because it demonstrates that I can meet others to their learning style. Most shockingly, both assessments indicated that my "sensing" category overwhelmingly outweighed my intuition, clearly showing that I trust facts and data over my gut feeling. In order to become an effective manager, I believe this component is very crucial. For instance, managers shouldn't rely on how they feel about a situation because feelings fluctuate. When decisions are made based on the facts of a situation, managers appear more confident and trustworthy to others. However, this aspect could negatively influence my emotional intelligence because I struggle to empathize with other individuals. While managers must make good decisions, they should also understand their employees and be emotionally available. So, one crucial step that I must implement to become a more effective manager is to understand feelings better and not always prioritize facts.  Discuss.
