Assignment:
• Discussing the principles underpinning interpersonal skills and how they contribute to effective business communication.
• Implementing effective techniques to resolve conflict and negotiate in business and workplaces.
• Performing effective business research and communicating the findings in a project and via oral presentation.
• Communicating effectively across cultures and to a range of different business audiences (managers, customers, colleagues, potential employers, etc.).
Assessment Brief:
Working in groups of 3 or 4, students will complete a report, based on how businesses in the 21st century communicate with their customers /clients, employees and other stakeholders.
Students will need to conduct research on an organisation and determine the effectiveness of the various forms of communication used by the organisation. The findings will be presented as a report to senior management.
The report will also be presented to the class.
Structure of the Report:
Using the How to write a report as on Moodle follow the structure as on Slide 3 in week 8.
NB. Reports contain headings unlike essays. For headings use a larger font, bold but not underlined
Please ensure your report:
• Covers the 4 relevant learning outcomes as above
• Includes a title or cover page including your name, student ID, subject name assessment title, addressed to and the date
• Is 800 - 1,000 words (+/- 10%) words long (length as a guide only)
• Submitted electronically in Word format, Arial font, 12 pt., 1.5 line spacing
• Is of a professional standard (spelling, grammar, punctuation)
• Insert a footer containing the page number
• Use Show/Hide and Print Preview to ensure that your layout is correct (i.e. margins and spaces)
• Your report should be written in the 3rd person
