(1) The process of understanding miracles is key to one's integration of psychology and science. By definition, a miracle is an event that appears to be inexplicable by the laws of nature. Can one be scientific and still believe in the supernatural and in the existence of miracles? In discussing miracles, the author suggested that a difficulty exists in that it is too easy to dismiss miraculous claims by explaining their efforts on a purely naturalistic basis, or alternatively, that it is too easy to claim as miraculous things which are statistically uncommon but readily explicable in natural terms. Which of these extremes is most evident in our own thinking?
(2) Discuss your philosophical anthropology. How has this chapter (chapter 7 from Integration Approaches to Psychology and Christianity 2nd Edition: An Introduction to Worldview Issues, Philosophical Foundations, and Models of Integration by David N. Entwistle) helped you to identify or change your philosophical anthropology?
