Discuss your chosen community-health related topic for this class project and why you selected it. (50-100 words) My chosen community-heath related topic was infection control for children at the daycare center at Starlight daycare in Minneapolis. I chose daycare as the site for my project because children are known to put things int their mouths without realizing that they may be ingesting foreign germs potentially leading to illnesses. To get into more detail I chose handwashing as one of the main points that I will be talking about, hoping that the kids ranging from 4-10 years old will understand the importance of washing our hands is important. Children are very smart and are able to grasp things at a very young age. By teaching them about the importance of handwashing, it'll encourage them to develop healthy habits which will decrease the spread of illnesses in daycare and school. Research and discuss the risk factors associated with this community-health issue. Address both modifiable and non-modifiable health risks. (100-150 words) Children attending daycare are more likely to contract or spread infectious diseases because they are in close contact with children who may be sick. Children frequently share toys that they may have put in their mouth hug which increases the spread of germs (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention [CDC], 2024). Need Assignment Help?
