1. Read Achievements in Public Health, 1900-1999: Improvements in Workplace Safety--United States, 1900-1999. Discuss the top 10 achievements of workplace safety. Give at least one additional reference to back this up. Please notice the article writes mostly about the mining and construction industries. If you focus on this article, you will find all 10 achievements are listed in the article. These 10 achievements can be found in the two sections entitled, "Improvements in Miner Safety" and "Factors Contributing to Worker Safety". Do not just identify a new legislation, program, or organization as an improvement; specify what that legislation, program, or organization does to improve miner safety.
2. Comment on the future directives in public health as related to workplace safety. Once again, future directions are clearly identified in the article; you must clearly identify and discuss these directions. The section entitled, "Future Directions" provides a good, clear, specific picture of the future directives in progress. Again, be specific!
