Discuss all things Shareholders' Equity including Treasury Stock. Treasury stock is basically, stock the company buys back from the shareholders. There are literally dozens of reasons a company would buy back its' own stock including try to ward off a hostile take over, or through what I like to call back doors to make the uninformed investor believe something is "happening at a company" that they might want to be a part of!
