1. Describe your current effectiveness in applying the basic counseling skills of reflective listening, empathy, and summarizing. How have you improved since beginning your program at Capella? Since taking the Counseling Theories course? Since attending your first colloquium? Since completing the skills practice mock session this week? What do you need to do to further improve your application of these basic skills?
2. Discuss what you think are the most important aspects of the counseling relationship. Be sure to reference all your resources. Explain how your favorite theoretical orientation or orientations influence the way you view the counseling relationship.
