Finish watching the second half of the movie The King's Speech, write a two-page reflection essay (double space, 12-point Times New Roman, 1" margins). Organize your essay by addressing the following questions:
1. Do you like this movie? Why or why not?
2. Discuss why the radio is referred to as a "Pandora's box" in the movie. Specifically, use lecture materials from Unit 2 on mass media effects and the role of media in a democratic political system to analyze in what ways the radio was important during the war time.
3. Discuss how family relationship and communication is portrayed in the film. Specifically, discuss how Bertie's and Lionel's families are different, and/ or similar. Use one of the following concepts and theories to analyze the family communication patterns portrayed in the film: family as a system, parenting styles, patterns of family communication, and Relational Dialectics Theory.
4. Discuss how the friendship between Bertie and Lionel has developed in the film. Use one of the following concepts and theories to analyze: reasons for relationship formation, relationship development model, relational dialectics theory, self-disclosure, and social
support.
5. Discuss what Bertie means by "I have a voice". What have you learned from the process how Bertie has overcome his debilitating speech impediment?
