Imagine that you are living in a diverse community served by a local hospital, medical practice, or clinic. Consider your ethnicity and demographic and that of your community. Then, consider what should be emphasized in the practices and services of a local provider to best meet your and the community's needs. For instance, if the provider does not consider the predominant language of the local population, you might have expectations or desires that there are interpreters available and that posted signage reflects the native tongue.
Discuss ways the provider can be more inclusive in their approach to a diverse community.
