Assignment:
For discussion board, please finish up the readings on Virginia Tech and move on to the Newtown information. The posts are two-fold, and should help you with your reflection paper. Please refer to the syllabus for all due dates.
1. VA Tech: The police believed they had a lead after the original murders. The school did not put out an alert until 9:30 am about an incident, urging students to be cautious (the alert is on page 82), and some students/staff were already in class. There was no lockdown at this time. What should have been done, and at what time? Would people be vulnerable either way?
2. Based on Newtown: Were there any changes in school safety, laws, and police response as compared to the previous incidents? What were they? Were they effective?
