Assignment:
Create a paper on the Aryan Brotherhood and their impact on Homeland Security. The final paper must contain 12 full pages of content, excluding the title page, abstract and references (bibliography), double-spaced, with standard 1-inch margins and 12-point standard font. You must use APA style for citations. All papers must use a minimum of five primary and five secondary sources. You may use the sources assigned for this course, but you may not count them toward the minimum sources for your project. At least two of your secondary sources must be academic journal articles.
Restrict your sources to newspaper articles from major national and international papers, published journals and magazine articles, academic sources, and websites from major organizations and government agencies. Encyclopedias and dictionaries are not appropriate sources for college level work. Online sources are fine, but they must be authoritative sources.
Scenario:
The Aryan Brotherhood is a violent organization that has had a significant impact nationally and continues to plague prison systems and law enforcement agencies around the country.It is a violent organization that was founded in in 1964 and currently has approximately 15,000 members. It is a white supremacist group that prospers in drug trafficking, prostitution, and extortion along with the intimidation. Due to the violent nature of this gang and the threat that is posed on those that are targeted, it is imperative that a proactive approach be taken when dealing with these criminals to ensure that they do not evolve into a more prolific threat. This paper will propose a method of correcting their unlawful abuse of power in the prison systems as well as in local communities.
