After you have completed the Reading, and without reviewing your classmate's responses, post your initial response to the following Discussion.
Your post should be at least 350 words in length and should extend the Discussion of the group supported by your course materials and/or other appropriate resources.
After you have submitted your initial post, take time to review your classmates' responses and to respond specifically and substantially to at least two of them. Refer to the Discussion Rubric in Course Resources for specific grading explanation.
After completing the Reading, provide an example of classical conditioning from your own experience. Briefly describe the example, and then discuss the variables that contribute to the strength of the conditioning, including: the manner in which the CS and US are paired, the length of the CS-US interval, and prior experience. Be sure to clearly identify the US, UR, CS, and CR.
Imagine you are a psychologist researching one of the following phenomena:
Phobias
Psychosomatic illnesses
Prejudice
Drug overdose deaths
Describe how Pavlovian conditioning is used to better understand the topic you selected. You should clearly identify the US, UR, CS, and CR as well as use additional conditioning terms to explain how the disorder/issue may develop in the individual and/or how it might be treated with conditioning.
