1: The Relevancy of History
Discuss why the understanding of historical events and decisions is crucial in modern times. Be sure to highlight the process of validating historical sources, and how to disseminate valid sources from invalid sources in our current world.
2: Immigration & Migration
Discuss what factors are involved in the historic immigration and/or migration of large groups to/through the United States. Be sure to discuss the relevance of push and pull factors, and historic examples of each phenomena (immigration and migration). Also, be able to articulate the primary challenges with immigration in America today, including arguments from opposing views.
3: Protest & Rebellion
Discuss under what circumstances it is acceptable to protest and rebel against the government. Be sure to define the fundamental differences between protest and rebellion, discuss and analyze "Risk vs. Reward" factors, and cite specific examples from US history. Finally, present your understanding of current protests against the government, including the group's name and their primary rationale for
protesting.
4: U.S. Constitution
Discuss the ways in which the U.S. Constitution protects the rights of its citizens. Be sure to explain how and why the US Constitution was birthed, what makes the US Constitution unique among world documents, the significance of the Bill of Rights, and how you personally benefit from its guaranteed rights. Finally, identify and discuss a current issue regarding constitutional m ricaatternss (i.e. this could be a
crurrent Supreme Court case, or an issue impacting the civil rights).
