Problem
I. Introduce and thoroughly discuss each of the four legal systems presented in the Fairchild and Dammer text: (i) Civil, (ii) Common, (iii) Socialist, and (iv) Islamic law. Be sure to discuss the similarities and differences between each system of law as they pertain to the U.S. system..
II. Identify, define, and discuss the types of laws found under the Shari'a system. In addition, provide examples as to violations of each type of law and the possible penalties for each.
III. Discuss the system of proof under Shari'a. Are there differences in the type of proof needed for various crimes? If so, discuss.
