Discuss the therapist: transference and transparency

Problem: From Chapter 7 "The Therapist: Transference and Transparency" by Yalom, Irvin D.; Molyn Leszcz. The Theory and Practice of Group Psychotherapy. New York, NY: Basic Books, 6th edition, 2020.Read the two passage in parenthesis, Passage 1- "Any discussion of the group therapist's scope and presence must begin with an examination of transference, which can be either and effective therapeutic tool or shackles that encumber your every movement." (Page 255) Passage 2- " As long as a group therapist assums the responsibility of leadership, transference will occur. We have never seen a group develop without a deep, complex underpinning if transference." (Page 270) and let us know underneath each passage what about it is evocative for you. Then move on to describe a memory from your own personal history that arises, relating to that passage. Finally, in a sentence or so, underneath each of these passages, please give your best hunch regarding which "principle" is embedded in it from which Yalom is coming. (There are no 'right answers' to this - you are simply guessing on the principle, unless of course your reprinted passage is itself a principle). Need Assignment Help?
