Americans tend to have a disdainful view of Mexico's ability to govern itself. But, there are many similarities between the early years of Mexican independence and that of the United States. Choose at least THREE similarities and/or differences in the struggle for independence of both countries and explain your answers. Consider: length of the war, racial background of leaders, obstacles to independence, outside assistance, existing social, economic, and political colonial structures, and any other areas you believe are significant.
