Note: research are as biased as their samples; as an example, APA created a Resolution on Poverty and Socioeconomic Status in 2000 that reflected the profession's cognitive distancing fromthe poor and the consequent invisibility of low-income persons within psychological research. The seunintended biases caused gaps in the literature and research agenda for the entire profession.
