Please answer the following three questions by addressing each one of them in approximately 2-3 pages.
1- Many of our readingsfocused on language in use. Drawing on the readings and any real-life examples, discuss the inter/cultural dimension of language use and how we continually negotiate our roles and relationships with one another.
2- Discuss what is meant by language variation and explain why sociolinguists argue that language variation, far from being random, correlates with speakers' identities. You may use such sociolinguistic variables as geographical region and/or ethnicity to illustrate how different variables can affect a speaker's language use.
3- Discuss the pros and cons of the dominance of English and offer your view of the future of English as a global language.
