There have long been debates surrounding the embedding of international correspondents to cover the news in other countries during times of war and unrest in other countries. As you read the comments from Maggie O'Kane, former war correspondent with the Guardian newspaper, regarding this practice consider the following:
? Discuss the practice of Western news organizations embedding international correspondents in dangerous conflict areas.
? Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of sending in international correspondents to cover stories.
? Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of using local correspondents to cover the stories.
? Discuss how you believe international and local news organizations could work together in bringing the news to others around the world.
The assignment must be three to four pages (excluding the title and reference pages) and completed using the APA style format.
