How does theory affect practice? Discuss the meaning of the integrated perspective. What are some of the advantages and disadvantages of drawing from more than one school? What do you consider to be the most important therapeutic goals? Which theoretical orientations would most guide you in formulating your goals and how would you describe your function and role as a helper or a counselor? What do you see as your major responsibility as a helping agent? What would you expect of your clients? How do you view the relationship between you and your clients? What are your basic assumptions about human nature? Which approach to therapy (of the ten you have studied) comes the closest to your beliefs about human nature? When you consider the philosophical assumptions underlying the approach you chose in the question above, what are its implications for therapeutic practice? In what ways do our basic assumptions determine the procedures we use in working with our clients?
